Powerful New T-Doll Klukai Joins Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium in [Aphelion] Update, Available Now

New game modes, characters, and rewards await Commanders in the RPG’s latest update

March 20, 2025 - Developer Sunborn Games is excited to announce the newest action-packed update for its 3D Strategy RPG Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium, available now on PC, iOS and Android. The [Aphelion] update introduces new characters, weapons, and outfits, as well as new game modes for players to enjoy.

[Aphelion] continues the Exilium story, the latest entry in a multimedia franchise that includes a serialized manga, multiple anime adaptations, and spin-off games. Girls Frontline 2 reached No.2 on the iOS free charts in the US, and over 2 million players have downloaded the global version.

In Girls Frontline 2, Players take on the role of the Commander, leading Tactical Dolls (T-Dolls) through missions and battling enemies, all while uncovering a conspiracy lurking beneath the surface. T-Dolls are anime-inspired android personifications of real-world weapons, giving players different strategies on the battlefield by coming in four class types: Sentinel (primary damage), Vanguard (mobile burst damage), Bulwark (damage tanking), and Support (healing and support). The [Aphelion] update welcomes two new Elite Dolls into the game in the form of Chinese-server fan-favorite Klukai (Sentinel, available March 20th) and Mechty (Support, available April 10th).

Klukai and Mechty join an impressive roster of T-Dolls already in the game, ready to be deployed in this update's new game modes, Boundary Push and Assault Simulation. Commanders will dispatch their Dolls to explore contamination zones and obtain important materials in Boundary Push, while in Assault Simulation, they will be manually shooting at enemies, aiming for the best time possible as they fight against hostiles and the clock. Klukai arrives in the [Aphelion] update, a beautiful but deadly T-Doll that will expand the Commander’s strategic options, bringing new tactical advantages to execute on the battlefield.

Whatever game mode the Commander plays, they will experience Girls’ Frontline’s visually distinct, high-quality 3D anime aesthetic built with Sunborn’s proprietary Non-Photorealistic Rendering (NPR) technology, which is based on Physically Based Rendering (PBR). This visual design goes alongside the gameplay features and mechanics expertly crafted by Sunborn, using its experience and success in the genre to give players the best possible experience.

[Aphelion] Update Includes:

  • New Elite Dolls: Klukai (Sentinel, available March 20th) and Mechty (Support, available April 10th).

  • New Outfits: For Klukai (Speed Star & Astral Luminous), Makiatto (Embroidered Bamboo, Blooming Shadows), and Peritya (Born Huntress).

  • New Elite Weapon: Skylla for Klukai. A high-performance assault rifle modelled after the 416. Its perfect appearance and performance make it ideal for a range of tactical roles in combat.

  • A new time-limited event: During the Time-Limited Event [Aphelion], commanders can receive generous rewards, including targeted access permissions, access permissions, and Klukai's "Speed Star" outfit.

  • New Game Modes: Boundary Push, where you dispatch Dolls to explore contamination zones for materials and Assault Simulation, where you manually aim and shoot at enemies.

  • Offline Events: Fans in Los Angeles can attend the pop-up event at Grand Central Market, which will feature live cosplayer group photography, live games, gameplay experience, limited merch, and many other freebies!
