SMITE 2 Launches Update With Two New Gods

ALPHARETTA, GA  –  Titan Forge Games today launched the latest major update to SMITE 2, including two brand-new playable gods – Artemis and Awilix – and a host of community-driven improvements to gameplay, UI, and more. SMITE 2 continues its streak of weekly god releases since the Open Beta began in early January, bringing the roster to an impressive 52 Gods with the arrival of Awilix.

Two New Gods Take Center Stage

Artemis returns to the Battleground with new tricks up her quiver from when we saw her last in SMITE 1. Drawing upon her role as the Goddess of the Hunt, she can now detect hidden enemies in stealth grass. And if your aim’s on point, you can chain hits to keep her attack speed buff roaring indefinitely – because when you never miss, why would you ever slow down?

An all-new Aspect transforms her classic trap-driven gameplay; when activated, her traps no longer root and cripple Gods, but instead deal damage in a large area. Artemis brings fresh strategies to experienced and new players alike, proving that even the most seasoned gods can still learn new tricks.

Awilix, Mayan Goddess of the Moon – Live March 3, 2025

The Goddess of the Moon, Awilix, pounces into the roster with dynamic mobility and lethal synergy. Triggering her Initiative passive by leaping from the back of her panther Suku into battle extends its duration, encouraging high-skill plays and daring engagements. Moreover, Awilix’s Moonlight Charge can now be fired while riding Suku, adding a layer of fluid aggression to her kit. Her ultimate, Gravity Surge, grants a new twist – while active, Awilix always gains the full benefit of her acrobatic Feather Step, ensuring her agility and unpredictability are second to none.

With Artemis live today and Awilix coming in just over a week, SMITE 2 continues to deliver unprecedented variety in its pantheon of gods, reaffirming its position as the MOBA with the most ambitious release cadence.

Exciting New Content and Features

• New Thor Aspect: Harness thunderous power with a Solo or Support-focused Aspect that unleashes chain lightning on every attack. Hitting an enemy god three times restores Thor’s health while slowing and trembling his victim. In exchange for raw damage, Thor gains bonus protections, forging a mightier path for those who choose to strike with precision and purpose.

• New Cross-Gen and Classic Skins: Level up your style with an array of fresh looks including Foxy Amaterasu, Baron Frostchild Ymir, Summer Fun Medusa, and more.

• Enhanced UI & Scoreboard: A new featured store spotlights the latest skins each patch, while an improved Scoreboard lets players quickly read other gods’ abilities.

• Conquest Improvements: Expect bigger rewards for player kills, improvements to the Runic Bomb mechanic, and adjusted Tower/Phoenix stats that emphasize strategic teamwork.

• Assault Team Bench: Roll and swap gods more freely than ever before, adding unprecedented flexibility to an already unpredictable mode.

• New Items: Bancroft’s Talon and an improved Typhon’s Fang enable lifesteal-focused builds, Nimble Ring supports Intelligence basic attackers, and Magi’s Blessing offers a CC-immunity shield.

This update also brings a range of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements, from faster cursor pings on console to visual clarity updates for various god abilities and skins.
