[West Texas, 1986] - The sinister minds at Famous Games are proud to announce Blight Night, a new retro horror-inspired action game dragging its way to Steam this April, 2025.
With visuals filtered through VHS tape, Blight Night is the ultimate 1980’s videogame horror, challenging players to solve the mysteries of Golden Springs and survive the flesh-craving monsters that call it home.
Sonny Barstow stands alone in a decrepit town. He packs a handful of supplies, and only a basic idea of what the hell is going on. With residents few and far between, Barstow must navigate a world in collapse and the evil that inhabits it. The only way to survive is to get out there, face those lurking in the shadows, and uncover a mystery that he’s not supposed to understand.
And he has to do it one tentative step at a time…
-
Explore, solve, and survive; navigate decayed buildings and uncover cryptic clues to solve the intricate puzzles of the past.
-
Light is your ally; the shadows are home to something… stay in the dark too long and you’ll never see the light again.
-
Dig deep for hidden treasures; abandoned buildings hold secrets and supplies, and you won’t get far without either.
-
Fight or flee? One enemy is doable. Two could be overwhelming. But three? There’s nothing cowardly about running away to fight another day.
-
With an immersive soundtrack ripped from the 1980s, the seedy synth and haunting ambience hang over Sonny’s actions like a heaving, damp fog.
Blight Night is a single-player third-person action-adventure horror game from solo developer Nick Duttweiler. A true passion project in development for eight years, Blight Night captures the lo-fi atmosphere of top-shelf terror, with classic gameplay inspired by titans of the survival-horror genre.
Blight Night is available to Wishlist now on Steam, with a full release this April.
