About RPG Maker Festival 2025
Maker Day (Tsukuru no Hi, February 15) is the day to recognize and celebrate the joy of making games! As this year’s RPG Maker Festival celebrations continue, Gotcha Gotcha Games is pleased to announce the next wave of discounts and activities planned for the event’s second week.
The “Creators and Players, everyone is a star!” theme continues with discounts across RPG Maker tools, various DLCs, and literally more than 1,000 participating games that have turned RPG Maker Festival into a big and successful event.

February 17: RPG Maker MZ Receives Major Update
On Monday, February 17, 2025, RPG Maker MZ will drop a brand new update and more, detailed below.
【Update Content】
- Many More Assets for the Character Generator
Fantasy, modern daily wear, police officer, a doctor: tons of new character outfits as well as support for characters having different eye colors depending on the direction faced. It’ll be easier than ever before to bring ideas to life!
- Picture Limit Increased And Other Limit Improvements
The number of allowed pictures will increase to 500, revisions to enemy placements in enemy groups will become less restrictive, and the ability to export larger maps as images are just some of the new improvements. Creators will feel less restricted than ever when working in RPG Maker MZ.
- For Advanced Users! JSON and Plugin Improvements
JSON file exports received improved formatting for improved readability, making it much easier to manage a MZ project with Git. Additionally, plugin annotations have been improved with the ability to specify a map using a dialog, turning the RPG Maker MZ’s user experience much more customizable.
