Core Keeper Steam Free Weekend Starts Today Ahead of Next Week’s 1.0 Release

Try the award-winning mining adventure for free and check out brand new 1.0 features ahead of the official launch

LONDON, UK – August 22, 2024 – Pugstorm and Fireshine Games are excited to invite Steam players to check out the beloved mining adventure Core Keeper for free this weekend, letting explorers begin their underground adventure ahead of the game’s 1.0 launch next week.

Available from 6pm BST today until August 26th, Core Keeper’s Steam Free Weekend lets players discover the award-winning sandbox adventure for free, with the option to select Classic Worlds for complete access to the current Early Access version of the game and – for the first time ever – 1.0 Worlds to get an early look at some of the exciting new content coming with next week's 1.0 Update.

Discover the new Mage and Warlock combat playstyles and check out the powerful new world generation tool, one of the major new features coming with Core Keeper’s 1.0 Update, to customise your worlds with various parameters and geometry. Get a head start on your new 1.0 World, building your base, gathering resources, levelling up your character, exploring diverse biomes, and taking on the opening bosses ahead of the game’s full 1.0 launch next Tuesday, August 27th.

Anybody who purchases the game will be able to carry over any worlds, characters and game progress made during the Steam Free Weekend to the full 1.0 release when it launches on August 27th. (Please note: Players are strongly recommended to start with 1.0 Worlds to continue story progression following the launch of the 1.0 Update. Classic Worlds are included in the Free Weekend to experience Core Keeper's full Early Access content, but will not support critical content introduced with next week’s 1.0 Update.)

Players who currently own Core Keeper on Steam Early Access will also be able to access the new world generation feature and combat playstyles during the Steam Free Weekend, giving them a head start to build new 1.0 Worlds and discover new features ahead of the 1.0 Update.

With over 2 million copies already sold on Steam Early Access, Core Keeper is an award-winning mining sandbox adventure that can be played single-player or online with friends.

Harvest relics and resources to build your base, craft advanced tools, and explore a dynamically evolving world waiting to be unearthed. Explore mysterious biomes, level up your skills, encounter the Cavelings, defeat legendary Titans, and unveil the power of the Core. Grow your garden, fish in mysterious waters, master recipes, hatch pets, drive vehicles, and carve out your own unique adventure alone or with friends in an enchanting underground sandbox.

Core Keeper will be available on the PlayStation®5 (PS5) system, Xbox Series X|S and PC 1.0 on August 27th, and the Nintendo Switch™ system, the PlayStation®4 system and Xbox One consoles on September 17th.
