Fitness-hacking gym-building train-'em-up now available for iPhone on the UK App Store.

Build a better you with Threkka, a new take on fitness gaming. Now available exclusively for iPhone in the UK App Store.

BRIGHTON, UK [December 2020] In the midst of lockdown, a haggard games dev veteran – Pete Morrish – is unexpectedly hailed from across the veil by a frustrated thespian Minotaur. Humbert, for that is his name, needs help. The once-great Gym Between lies in ruins, and he's nowhere near fit enough to win the Gold he’ll need in the Gym's Workout Challenges. But training in his home realm – the sideworld of Liminalia – costs Sweat, and the only way to earn it? Go exercise in the human world – with actual humans. Pete realises that if he creates a pocket portal to the fitness multiverse and takes Humbert training with him in the real world, he'll build his own healthy habits along the way. Win-win. Might as well wrap it into an iPhone game and help millions of others do the same.

BRIGHTON, UK [February 2025] Chock Hoss announces that Threkka is now available in the UK App Store, with a worldwide release to follow. A single-player fitness-hacking, gym-building, train-'em-up, Threkka is laser-focused on helping Players build healthy habits – or adding some proper game design chops around the ones they've already got. It takes proven free-to-play mechanics and underpins them with real-world exercise, movement, and activity. By integrating with Apple's HealthKit, Threkka works alongside whatever Players already use – Apple Watch, fitness apps, personal trainers, other fitness games, you name it – wrapping everything into a true-game structure that rewards consistency, effort, and momentum.

Players start with just a Cardboard Box and the will to train. As they work out in real life, they earn Sweat – exactly what Humbert needs to train over in Liminalia. Together, they’ll unlock new Equipment, upgrade existing stuff, complete Workout Challenges, recruit new members, and gradually transform the ruined Gym Between into a thriving fitness hub. As Players grow healthier, fitter and stronger, so do their Champs – a cast of misunderstood folklore baddies looking for their own shot at redemption.

Designed for several bite-sized sessions per day, Threkka is here to kickstart its Players' fitness journeys, and to grow, develop and celebrate alongside them.

Threkka Features…

- A cast of Champs: misunderstood baddies from folklore and pop culture, each with their own journey.
- Nine types of gym Equipment: each with ten variants to unlock, upgrade, and master.
- The world's first interdimensional PhaseTime calls: who better to explain how things work than the developer himself?
- An increasingly irked Unicorn called Ray: whose GPS is, frankly, a disaster.
- Joyful, human-centred design: reflecting the love poured into every part of the game.
- A true-to-life fitness model: factoring in ten fitness sub-types, intensity, fatigue, recovery, and more.
- Gophers.

About Pete Morrish & Chock Hoss

Pete Morrish is a 25-year games dev veteran, and Chock Hoss is his company. With a career spanning design and production roles at developers including Denki, Creature Labs, Kuju, Climax, and Slightly Mad Studios, Pete brings deep industry experience – and a background in psychology and animal behaviour – to his work.

Having used that same behavioural insight to fuel his own self-driven journey from couch potato to ultra runner, Pete became convinced there had to be a way to design a game that would help others do the same. It took a few years for the epiphanies to hit, but when they did, they hit hard. Threkka became his best shot at leaving a big, positive dent in the world.

So, he cleared the decks, taught himself to code, and went for it. He hopes you like what he built.
