Riot Games and Carry International today celebrated the grand opening of the League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) Arena. Located in the vibrant Datong District of Taipei, the newly renovated venue will serve as the LCP’s permanent home, marking a historic milestone for esports in the region. Starting from Mid Season, fans will be able to experience LCP action live and in person.
“It was always our wish to have a permanent esports home for our region, and it is a huge milestone to have this wish come true as we continue to elevate the quality of the esports experience for our fans. We're glad to see the community share our enthusiasm, which was clearly shown when tickets for the opening weekend sold out on the very day they were released. We can’t wait to welcome a live audience, bringing their energy, passion, and excitement to every match and helping create the esports experience we all know and love,” said Sean Oh, APAC Publishing and Esports General Manager.
“After years of hard work, it is truly a dream come true to finally welcome our fans to an esports arena we can call our own. We are sincerely grateful to Riot Games for their trust in Carry International over the past four years, which has allowed us to bring this ambitious vision to life. We are also confident that this brand-new esports arena will reignite the passion for League of Legends esports among our local and LCP fans,” said Jerry Yen, Chairman, Carry International.
As part of the celebration, CTBC Flying Oyster were presented with a trophy for winning the LCP Season Kickoff. Representatives from Riot Games, Carry International, partners, and pro-teams also signed a commemorative banner that will be displayed at the arena to mark this historic occasion.
“This new home is a commitment to our belief that the LCP will benefit regional esports in the long run. Through top tier regional competition on a regular basis, our wish is for every team in the league to level up and become competitive on the global stage. We already saw immediate dividends with CFO’s amazing run at the First Stand Tournament. With LCP, we also want to provide a platform for more local talent to shine on a regional stage,” said Piotr Pilich, Head of Product, Esports, LCP.
Conveniently situated near Minquan West Road MRT Station and a major bus transfer hub, the LCP Arena provides excellent accessibility for fans traveling to the venue. Inside, the venue is powered by Unilumin’s state-of-the-art display solutions, including over 200 LED panels spanning more than 100 square meters, along with top-end PC setups from MSI, and COUGAR chairs on stage for LCP teams. The LCP Arena has a 136 seating capacity, and 2 wheelchair-accessible spots.
Fans can also look forward to an official Riot merchandise store, with Riot Games merch available for purchase, and in future, exclusive LCP merchandise too. In addition, a variety of food and beverage options will be available to complete the live event experience. Both the store and F&B area are open to the public and do not require a ticket.
Tickets go on sale at 12:00 GMT+8 every Wednesday a week before each match weekend and can be purchased online through the KKTIX website or at FamilyMarts across Taiwan. Tickets are sold per Match Day and provide entry to the arena for all matches scheduled on that specific day.
The LCP Mid Season, brought to you by MSI, Unilumin, and COUGAR, begins tomorrow, 19 April, as teams fight for two coveted Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) spots. The opening match will see MGN Vikings Esports take on Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS Gaming at 17:30 GMT+8, followed by a Season Kickoff Finals rematch between CTBC Flying Oyster and Talon.
