New cross-platform, social gaming app ‘Super Snappy’ will bring a new era of social gaming

Liechtenstein - June 21, 2023 -  Formerly the #1 games provider for Snapchat, developer NOWWA/Gamebop has announced today its all-in-one, new cross-platform messaging and gaming app, Super Snappy.

Building on the footsteps of giants like Club Penguin, Habbo Hotel and Facebook Canvas, and filling a void left unattended by current platforms (Roblox, Facebook Instant), Super Snappy will connect users across the web, mobile devices, and gaming consoles to provide an all-in-one platform with unified avatars, friends list, game profiles; pets, spaces, and many games.

Super Snappy aims to answer the question “where to play with friends” which at the moment can only be answered through a fragmented, puzzle-like aggregation of disconnected systems, games and platforms; by creating the social hub that all games connect to and turning itself into the social-glue for gamers everywhere.

The free service will feature customizable avatars and a personalized “Space” where friends and players can gather for real-time chatting. Users will also be able to directly invite contacts to play one of Super Snappy’s built-in games without having to download or purchase separate apps.

NOWWA/Gamebop will provide a selection of competitive titles at launch, but third-party developers will have access to the Super Snappy API to seamlessly deploy and add social features to any game.

For developers, Super Snappy offers tools for frictionless virality and discovery, and solves the user acquisition problem which currently can only be solved by purchasing ads.

To keep the platform free, NOWWA/Gamebop is implementing a number of user-friendly, revenue-earning tools, including:

  • Subscriptions: Paid subscribers will receive digital items, in-game currency, Season Passes, and unique rewards.
  • In-App Purchases: Players will earn and use exclusive Super Snappy currency to unlock items, power-ups, and cosmetics.
  • Rewarded Ads: Instead of banner and interstitial ads, players will decide whether to watch in-game ads for rewards or skip them entirely.
  • Third-Party Developers: Super Snappy's generous revenue-sharing program allows third-party developers to earn 95% while the platform only takes 5%.

Super Snappy is built on the proprietary HTML5 TOY Engine deployed on PlayCanvas, Unity and Unreal Engine; with multiplayer servers and analytics handled by the also proprietary ConquerOS backend. Native clients will be available on all current gaming consoles, operating systems, and mobile devices.
