08 OCTOBER 2020 - Thunderbox Entertainment is proud to announce that their digital adaptation of the contemplative tabletop favourite, Tsuro: The Game of the Path, is out now on Oculus Quest.

Tsuro is the first digital board game to release on the Oculus Quest, and follows an award-winning release on mobile that has seen it frequently found on Apple's App of the Day spot.

Created by Thunderbox Entertainment, this adaptation of one of the most beloved and accessible tabletop games ever made, is an exquisite cross-platform experience in which up to 8 players (human or AI) take turns to create paths across the board, each trying to stay on it longer than their opponents.

Called "one of the most beautiful games you’ll ever see" by Board Game Geek, Thunderbox has pushed the envelope with Tsuro’s release on Quest, enshrining the giant game board in an ancient mountaintop temple replete with friendly fauna of the game's Japanese gardens, including foxes, finches, carp and a wandering bumblebee.

Not simply a beautiful setting in which to play, Tsuro's towers can be climbed for a better view of the board, with the garden hiding many hidden secrets that will unlock new game features if discovered.[Continues below]

Dany Taylor, Design Director at Thunderbox Entertainment said: "We wanted to take the immersion you experience in games like SUPERHOT VR, and apply that to a board game. We took Tsuro off the tabletop and super-sized it, specifically to showcase the Quest's 6DOF capabilities, with the goal of surrounding players in Tsuro's relaxing, spatial gameplay."

The tranquil immersion of Tsuro certainly impressed the Academy of Adventure Gaming & Arts, who awarded it the first-ever Origins Award for “Best Digital Adaptation of a Physical Game” earlier this month.

Tsuro: The Game of the Path has already delighted players on Oculus' Go and Rift headsets, and with the launch on Oculus Quest, and the recently revealed Quest 2, the game will be accessible to more virtual reality players than ever before.  What’s more, Tsuro’s chilled-out multiplayer enables gamers on VR, mobile, PC and Mac to cross paths in the temple and enjoy The Game of The Path together, regardless of platform.

Tsuro: The Game of the Path releases on the Oculus Quest Store on the 8th of October, priced at £7.99/$9.99.
