Menorca, Spain - February 11, 2025 — Straynus, the indie developer behind the highly anticipated point-and-click adventure game Cronela’s Mansion, is celebrating a major milestone in its Kickstarter campaign, having already surpassed 50% of its $128,802 funding goal in the first week. This exciting achievement is a testament to the overwhelming support and anticipation from fans of Gary Winnick and Ron Gilbert’s cult classic adventure, who are eager to experience the spiritual successor to Lucasfilm’s Maniac Mansion.
Currently, in development for both classic and modern consoles, Cronela’s Mansion is a throwback to the classic SCUMM adventures of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. It offers open-world gameplay where players roam the mysterious Rodsem Land and its sprawling mansion. Solve puzzles, engage with colorful characters through a dynamic dialogue system, and unravel the estate's dark secrets. With over 50 rooms to explore, every corner hides something unexpected.
Backers of the campaign can choose from several exclusive editions of the game, including a limited run of physical NES, Super Nintendo, Game Boy, and GBA-compatible cartridges. The standard edition, featuring a game cartridge, a full-color manual, keychain, and a poster of the game's map, is limited to just 2,000 copies worldwide.
In addition to the standard edition versions of the game, the Cronela’s Mansion Kickstarter offers adventure gaming superfans and collectors the opportunity to secure Collector’s Edition, which comes with exclusive bonus items, including an action figure, soundtrack, posters, and more.
“We have reached more than 50% of our goal in just one week.” said the game’s developer, Straynus. “There is still a way to go, but I couldn’t be happier to see all the support from people, in addition to all the positive words from those who have played the classic demos on their old televisions. I couldn’t be more excited and grateful.”
Those interested in trying the game for themselves before backing the project can find the Cronela's Mansion NES, Game Boy, and Game Boy Advance demos here.
Backers can still join the campaign and secure their copy of Cronela’s Mansion at the exclusive Kickstarter prices. The game is set for release digitally on PC and Switch in November of 2025, alongside physical versions compatible with the NES, Super Nintendo, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance.
