Tallinn, Estonia, 20th of March 2025 – Bootstrap Island, the realistic VR survival game, is thrilled to launch Major Update 3! This update introduces the long-awaited Dynamic Weather System, reshaping survival with unpredictable conditions that challenge players like never before.
Dynamic Weather System
Weather now plays a crucial role in survival, dynamically changing the environment and affecting every aspect of gameplay:
- Fire-making and firearms are now impacted by wet conditions, making it essential to seek shelter and dry out gear. However, gathering fresh water is now easier.
- Rain and wind vary from light drizzles to violent storms, affecting visibility and movement. Observant survivors can anticipate weather changes by watching the sky and wind shifts.
- Lightning adds an element of danger, capable of igniting objects and injuring players.
New Wildlife & Survival Features
This major update also includes a variety of gameplay enhancements to deepen the survival experience:
- The Wild Storm – A brutal survival event pushing players to their limits.
- Warthogs – Territorial and aggressive, these creatures attack without warning - even during the day. A risky but rewarding food source!
- Critters – Small lizards and frogs can now be caught by hand, with weapons, or by throwing rocks. Eat them raw or cook them for a quick meal.
- Roof Construction – A new shelter-building option to protect against rain and wind, ensuring better survival conditions.
- Palm Leaves – A new building material expanding construction possibilities.
