SHANGHAI, Dec 17, 2020 — Global interactive entertainment developer and publisher miHoYo officially announced details today regarding their latest original IP — the virtual actress Lumi. Users may view Lumi's latest videos on the official Lumi_N0va YouTube channel, and experience Lumi on Android devices via the N0va Desktop app slated for release on Dec 18, 2020.

Using the Unreal Engine and motion capture technology, Lumi is miHoYo's first ever live virtual character. The company achieved the character's high-quality cell-shading and rendering via a customized development of Unreal Engine, enabling Lumi to truly come to life with vivid detail. Combined with the use of motion capture technology, Lumi's movement, facial expressions, muscle system, and even skin texture have all been portrayed in painstaking detail, allowing for ultrarealistic appearance and performances.
From the moment Lumi debuted in her first YouTube video in May 2020, Lumi has gained the attention of fans from around the world. Since then, Lumi's video series has already accumulated over 10 million views on YouTube. On Dec 18, 2020, the N0va Desktop app will be released for Android devices, allowing Lumi to accompany her fans wherever they go via their mobile devices. In addition to live desktop wallpapers and short videos, miHoYo also expressed that Lumi will also be appearing in other formats including live streams, giving fans even more ways to interact with Lumi.
