EQU8’s anti-cheat software is focused on providing developers with an array of tools to combat cheating all while remaining lightweight and having a negligible effect on performance. EQU8’s anti-cheat software has been used in Splitgate since summer 2020. EQU8 was launched in 2019 by Andreas Hansson, Pierre Lindblad and Sander Brauwers.
“Acquiring EQU8 is a vital part of our anti-cheat strategy as we develop our next game,” said Ian Proulx, CEO and co-founder of 1047 Games. “We take anti-cheat seriously. Having our own in-house solution that we can tweak in real time solely for our next game with a growing player base makes a lot of strategic sense. We’ll be in full control over a proven solution we’ve seen success with in the past, with added resources to make it even more robust.”
“We are grateful for all the support from our investors and for helping to develop EQU8 anti-cheat. It is exciting for EQU8 to be part of 1047 Games and fully focus on stopping cheaters in their games,” said Johan Örneblad, chairman.
1047 Games is currently developing the newest title in the Splitgate universe, and boasts a headcount of more than 100 fully remote workers from around the globe.
