January 24, 2025 - NEXON has announced that they will be presenting a session centered around their looter-shooter title, The First Descendant, during this year's Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2025, the world’s largest and longest-running event serving professionals dedicated to the art and science of making games.
GDC 2025, taking place from March 17 to March 21 (local time) serves as a hub for sharing insights on key industry topics and emerging game development trends, bringing together key players from the industry to the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. Among those is Beomjun Lee, Executive Producer of The First Descendant, who will host a session titled “Persevering Through a 57 Metacritic as a Live Service Game.”
“It is an honor to present The First Descendant at a conference where game developers from around the world gather,” said Beomjun Lee, Executive Producer of The First Descendant. “Through this session, I aim to share the experiences we’ve gained while operating the game and reveal our future plans, focused on meeting player expectations.”
During the session, Lee will discuss key lessons the team learned from eight months of live service following the game’s launch. The session will cover the challenges faced during operations, the strategies employed to address them, and the approaches taken to enhance player satisfaction leading up to the Season 2 update. Additionally, Lee will outline the game’s overarching goals and sustainable live service development plans.
