LONDON, July 2, 2021 -- Today, WRKS Games announces their next feature universe from the studio. Drenched in the rich history and folklore of feudal Japan, Katana-Ra will blend the elements of beautiful tradition with the futuristic combat stylings of the cyberpunk genre.
Key concept art has been provided of new characters as well as yokai, kami, etc. deriving from folklore and legend. The following was inspired by the Bakeneko. As the name describes, it’s a yokai that often resembles a cat with great shape shifting capabilities. It was rumoured they may consume their masters and take their shape to live their lives.

Ashinaga and Tenaga, a pair of yokai from the Kyūshū region, are also featured. The two are said to work together to catch fish off the shores and were an omen for bad weather.
