A powerful narrative game set in a Lower Manhattan café on the morning of September 11, 2001
Houston, TX Virtual Sky Interactive has released the official teaser trailer for Café New York 9/11, a narrative adventure game that tells an intimate, character-driven story set against one of the most defining moments in modern history. From the lead level designer of Life is Strange: Double Exposure, this project blends emotional storytelling with immersive gameplay to explore life just before the world changed forever.
In Café New York 9/11, players step into the shoes of Sameer, a Pakistani-American café owner living in Lower Manhattan during the week of the attacks. Through meaningful dialogue, player-driven choices, and richly detailed environments, the game paints a heartfelt portrait of community, identity, and resilience in the face of uncertainty.
“This isn’t a story about the events of 9/11. It’s about the lives that were unfolding in quiet, personal ways before that morning,” said Baqir Shah, Founder and Creative Director of Virtual Sky Interactive. “We’re sharing the voices of people who are often left out of historical retellings. The café, and Sameer’s journey through it, becomes a window into those human experiences.”
